Oregon has leaned on NEVI harder than Washington because its geography demands it. The I-84 corridor through the Columbia Gorge and the high desert east of The Dalles is the longest under-served fast-charging stretch in the Pacific Northwest, and ODOT has pointed most of its early NEVI awards straight at it — Biggs Junction is under construction with a Q4 2026 target, and Boardman is funded behind it.
